The adventure begins in Kuching , an elegant city on the river where colonial architecture, colorful markets, Chinese shop fronts, and local flavors form a fascinating introduction to Borneo.
Next, we travel by boat to Bako National Park , sailing through mangroves and along the coast before reaching one of the most beautiful rainforest areas of Sarawak.
Together with an experienced nature guide, you will explore the jungle and go in search of proboscis monkeys, macaques, bearded pigs, tropical birds, and other special animals .
Discover ancient trees, exotic plants, and mysterious pitcher plants while experiencing Borneo's exceptional biodiversity up close.
Afterwards, the journey continues to the Semenggoh Wildlife Centre , where you can meet orangutans roaming freely through the surrounding rainforest.
You leave the city behind and travel through a spectacular landscape with rice fields, pepper plantations, and traditional villages.
As the landscape becomes increasingly wild, you reach Batang Ai , the gateway to one of the most remote and fascinating areas of Sarawak.
Here you board a traditional longboat and sail deep into the rainforest, along waterways surrounded by pristine tropical jungle.
Your destination is an authentic Iban longhouse , where you will be warmly welcomed by the local community and introduced to a way of life that has been closely connected to the rainforest for generations. Enjoy a home-cooked dinner with your host family and experience the warm and genuine Iban hospitality.
When evening falls, enjoy traditional music, dance, stories, and centuries-old customs in an atmosphere that seems far removed from the modern world. Tonight you will spend the night in the longhouse and experience Borneo not as an ordinary visitor, but as a welcome guest.
You wake up to the sounds of the rainforest and discover, together with your Iban hosts, how they have lived in harmony with their environment for generations. Learn how the rainforest provides food, medicine, and materials, and get acquainted with traditional skills such as blowpipe hunting, fishing, and jungle survival .
Afterwards, you trek into the rainforest with a local guide, along ancient paths and past plants, sounds, and tracks that tell the story of the jungle. A tranquil river or hidden jungle waterfall provides the perfect place to relax, swim, and take in the serene beauty of this special environment.
On your last morning, you take one final walk through the rainforest before starting the return journey to Kuching. Along the way, you visit local communities and craft centers, where you get a final impression of the rich cultural traditions of Sarawak.
You return to Kuching with unforgettable memories of orangutans in the rainforest, adventurous boat trips, ancient jungle, warm Iban hospitality, and encounters with a culture deeply connected to nature .
